As another material to use that is pretty easy to get, try brushing your dog.

I had a black Chow-Chow. I would brush that dod and clumps of thick fur was always coming off.

Instead of throwing it away into the trash like usual.  I thought, hey why not give it a go and try making something useful.

I have made literally hundreds of flies using the dogs hair.

Makes really buggy fuzzy bug flies.

Try using your dogs hair off the brush and have some fun using your imagination to create something special.

I had a Maine Coon cat that was a "silver" (light gray) and I used his fur for muskrat nymphs for years and years.  Still have some.
